On October 5, 2008, the Pacoima Middle School auditorium was destroyed by fire.  The building sustained significant smoke, fire and water damage, estimated at $1.5 million to the structure and $500,000 to contents.  Rebuilding and replacing the extensive equipment will take approximately two years.
